Growing Spaces
We have recently taken on the management of the Rassau Community Growing
Space, located behind the Senior Citizens Hall on Clydach Avenue. We are currently
working to tidy and restore the site, with the aim of creating a welcoming space that
the whole community can enjoy.
The space will include a quiet seating area where people can relax, reflect and
connect with nature, alongside raised growing beds and an orchard. We will grow
fresh produce to use in our cookery workshops at the Centre and to support local
community food banks.
We will also be running a programme of workshops, bringing people together to
learn about gardening, the uses of plants, and local wildlife, helping to build skills,
confidence and community connections.
To help us manage and develop the space, we are recruiting volunteers and would
love to hear from anyone who would like to get involved in the project. Whether you
have gardening experience or simply want to be part of something positive in the
community, your support would be very welcome.
